Exploring the Benefits of AVEVA Cloud for Industrial Operations
In this video, Elkansa Kousa, a product specialist at AVEVA Select California, discusses AVEVA Cloud, a suite of cloud-based engineering and operations software products. AVEVA Cloud has been embraced by more than 4,400 customers globally, with most of these customers reporting at least a 20% efficiency gain by moving to the cloud. Some highlights and additional benefits of using cloud products, include ease of use, reduced IT costs, and increased availability and scalability.
One of the main concerns customers have with cloud-based solutions is security. However, AVEVA offers highly scalable, robust, and secure cloud solutions by utilizing trusted partners such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure. In addition, AVEVA works on a shared responsibility practice to ensure that network, data, and applications are secure, with customers responsible for securing their account credentials and configurations.
As an AVEVA Cloud user, the first platform that one encounters is AVEVA Connect, the industrial cloud platform that serves as an authentication engine. From there, users can access various products, including Development Studio, Integration Studio, Insight, E3D, and Point Cloud Manager, among others. Kousa provided an overview of each of these products, with particular emphasis on Development Studio and Integration Studio.
Development Studio is a product that was recently launched by AVEVA and serves as a core place for users to view their entitlements for on-premise software. According to Brian Leonard, product manager at AVEVA, “Development Studio is a multi-phase approach. Initially, we’re offering it as a core place for you to view all the entitlements that you have in terms of your on-premise software. If you have an operation control or if you’re an integrator or whatever, you can use this as a hub to look and see all the different solutions that you have available to you.”
Integration Studio, on the other hand, allows users to connect various systems and devices to improve data flow and efficiency. Kousa noted that “Integration Studio is an easy-to-use cloud-based solution that helps connect and automate different systems and devices to improve overall efficiency and streamline processes. It provides a visual interface for creating and deploying integrations, and allows users to integrate with a wide range of systems and applications, including ERP, CRM, and MES systems.”
